Will this work on my gas outboard?

In most cases, yes. The clamp is designed to fit over standard tiller handles found on small outboards (2HP - 15HP) as well as electric motors. If your outboard handle is extremely thick (over 1.75" diameter), it might be a tight fit.

Can I still control the speed?

Yes. The extension handle clamps tightly onto the twisting part of your motor's tiller. When you twist the extension handle, it rotates the motor's original handle, allowing you to change speeds and gears as normal.

Does it collapse for storage?

Yes. It telescopes down to 17 inches for storage. You can also remove it completely in seconds by loosening the clamp wing-nut if you need to pack the motor away.
