If you have a cable-steer motor like an Ultrex, Fortrex, or Maxxum, standard quick release brackets won't work with your scissor-style mount. The Minn Kota MKA-52/62 (1862016) is the heavy-duty aluminum bracket designed specifically for these larger, foot-control motors.
Solid Aluminum Design:
This bracket consists of two heavy-duty extruded aluminum plates. one bolts to your deck, the other to your trolling motor mount. They slide together and lock with a side screw, providing a rock-solid connection that eliminates the flex and noise common with plastic brackets.

Will this fit my Terrova or Ulterra?
No. The Terrova and Ulterra use a different mounting footprint (Electric Steer). For those motors, you need the MKA-21 (Composite) or MKA-51 (Aluminum) quick release bracket. This MKA-52/62 is strictly for "scissor mount" motors like the Ultrex and Fortrex.
Can I secure my motor against theft?
Yes. The locking design allows you to replace the side thumb screw with a padlock (not included). This prevents the motor from being slid off the bracket, securing your expensive Ultrex or Fortrex to the boat.
Does this add height to the motor?
It adds very little height (approximately 1 inch). The low-profile aluminum design keeps the motor close to the deck, maintaining the sleek look and proper deployment angle of your trolling motor.
