Frequently Asked Questions

Will this cable give my SOLIX Down Imaging or Side Imaging from the trolling motor?

No. The Universal Sonar 2 (US2) transducer built into standard Minn Kota motors is strictly a traditional 2D sonar transducer (200/83 kHz). It is physically incapable of producing high-frequency Down or Side imaging, regardless of the adapter cable used or the capabilities of your fish finder.

Why is this cable so short?

The MKR-US2-13 adapter is only 9 inches long because it is designed to bridge the connection right at the bow of the boat, near the base of the trolling motor. If your Humminbird SOLIX or APEX is mounted at the console, you will also need to purchase the Minn Kota MKR-US2-11 Extension Cable (14.5 feet) to reach the back of the boat.

Do I need this if I have a Terrova with Built-In MEGA Down Imaging (MDI)?

No. If your trolling motor has Built-In MEGA Down Imaging (MDI), you do not use US2 cables. You will need a specific MDI adapter cable depending on which generation of Humminbird unit you are trying to connect it to.
